This is a lovely spoon made in Edinburgh in 1741 by John Main, assay master Dougal Ged, it has nice clear hallmarks, what makes this special is Ged was only Assay master for 2 years so silver with his mark is rare, it has a fine bowl and rat tail. It has period owners Scottish initials, it is 20cms long and weighs 64 grams
